Although sublimated in Man City’s shirt, it seems that Erling Haaland has a future plan mapped out after Manchester City release clause emerges.
Landing at Manchester City last summer with many expectations, Erling Haaland certainly did not disappoint Man City fans. The new season has only been 2 months, but has 20 goals for himself, breaking a series of previous records set by his seniors.
Of course, Haaland is considered the best player in world football right now. Not only talent on the pitch, Haaland’s attitude is also popular with many people. The most typical image is the situation of handing the shirt to Man City’s staff instead of throwing the shirt like other players, or the situation of picking up things to help the referee and then scoring a few seconds later.
Despite just starting the first year of his contract, Man City plans to keep Haaland longer at Etihad Stadium. This is because the Citizens know other European giants like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or PSG will always be ready to approach Haaland when the contract is gradually drifting to the final moments.
It’s emerged this month that Haaland has a release clause in his City contract, which can be activated in the summer of 2024. If the reports are true, he will be able to leave the Etihad for £175m in two years’ time.
Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who is heavily involved in the superstar’s off-field business, confirmed his son’s next stop could be La Liga.
Sharing about the future of Haaland, Mr. Alf-Inge Haaland shared:
“I think my son wants to prove himself in every tournament. He can stay at Man City for the next three or four years. Haaland can play two and a half years in Germany, three years in England and four years in La. Liga, maybe.”
According to his agent Rafaela Pimenta, Erling Haaland already knows the next step he will take in his glittering career.
Haaland was represented by Mino Raiola until his death in April, with Pimenta inheriting many of his clients.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Pimenta said: “When Alfie came to the office for the first time and we met, with Mino of course, Alfie was already a man with a plan. And the plan of Alfie was ‘my plan is I need to have a plan and I need agents who make plans’.
“So it’s been very carefully prepared. It is planned every day. I say to the players, ‘If when you start you don’t know where you are going then for sure you will not get there. Maybe you don’t get there anyhow but I guarantee you won’t if you don’t know the road’. So, yes, we made a plan from the start.”
Haaland’s career is so successful, it can be said that there is a huge contribution from father Alf-Inge Haaland. The former Man City striker is the one who guided Haaland up from small teams like Salzburg, then developed his career at Dortmund and now Man City.
