There is no truth to reports linking Manchester City with a move for Napoli sensation Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Serie A club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli tells Sport Express.
Kvaratskhelia, a £9 million signing from Georgian outfit Dinamo Batumi, has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Europe this season.
The Napoli winger has played a pivotal role in a team that are unbeaten in all competitions since April.
Understandably, after impressing for Napoli in both Serie A and the Champions League, Kvaratskhelia is attracting interest from clubs around Europe.
Calciomercato claimed this week that Manchester City are already threatening to test Napoli’s resolve.
Napoli sporting director Christian Gintoli answered SE’s question about Manchester City’s interest in the midfielder.
“Not true! This is a lie,” the sporting director says, responding to those City links.
“We have no desire to sell Kvaratskhelia.”
Kvaratskhelia moved to Napoli from Dynamo Batumi in 2022. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
This season, he has played 14 matches for the Italian club in all competitions, in which he scored 7 goals and made 8 assists.
