Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are close to finalising a season-long loan deal for rising academy star Kayky.
Kayky, who was signed Kayky for a €10m transfer fee from Brazilian side Fluminense last summer, trained regularly with the first team last season, and earned praise from Pep Guardiola.
The 18-year-old played Premier League and FA Cup football last season and was even included in the Champions League squad, thus was seen as a future first-team star.
However, despite only being eight months into his career at the Etihad Stadium, City officials are now close to finalising a senior loan spell away from the club for the 2022/23 season.
According to Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade, Kayky is set to join Paços De Ferreira on loan until next season. The negotiations are said to be advanced, and it looks extremely likely that the deal will happen.
Negotiations between the relevant parties are described as being ‘well advanced’, with the teenager heading to the Primeira Liga side until June 2023.
It is reported that the season-long loan deal will not include an option to buy for the Portuguese outfit.
Interestingly, it is further claimed that Kayky had other offers from Portugal, but now hopes to return to Manchester City next summer as a potential first-team option for Pep Guardiola and his staff – with the former having ‘endorsed’ the move to Paços de Ferreira this summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Why are people crying about this? He’s clearly not ready to be part of the rotation and a loan will be great for him to develop in a top league in Europe.”

“Could honestly tell after a few games that he’d end up on the loan carousel sadly. Just isn’t that extra spark needed to reach the top IMO. Hope I’m wrong but I can’t see it.”
