Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is not expected to pursue a deal for Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry this summer despite Raheem Sterling looking set to join Chelsea.
The 26-year-old versatile midfielder is out of contract at the end of next season and contract talks are at an impasse.
That has led the German side to consider letting him go to avoid losing him for nothing next year, with The Sun saying £35 million may be enough. Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have been credited with showing an interest.
It was reported last week that Manchester City were prepared to make a move for Gnabry if Raheem Sterling leaves this summer.
Additionally, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Premier League champions had sent various scouts to watch Gnabry in action, to assess whether he would fit Pep Guardiola’s brand of football.
However, according to The Daily Mail’s Jack Gaughan, Manchester City are denying the possibility of moving for the Bayern Munich forward in the event that Raheem Sterling completes his move to Chelsea.

While it remains to be seen if the club will go back into the transfer market to add another body to the squad, it is now clear that Gnabry would not be on a shortlist for this summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
