Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea are optimistic of finding an agreement to sign Nathan Ake this summer.
It was recently reported that the Dutch international is high up on Thomas Tuchel’s transfer wish list this summer, as the Stamford Bridge club look to strengthen at the back.
In addition, another claim was made about how Manchester City had informed the player that he is free to depart the Etihad Stadium, should the right proposal be made.
According to a report by Matt Law of the Telegraph, Chelsea are now ‘optimistic’ of reaching an agreement to sign Nathan Ake, with the player reportedly open to the idea of a return to Stamford Bridge starting from the new season.
It is mentioned that while a transfer fee is yet to be finalised, talks have been held between both clubs and a deal could well be struck to secure his signature.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“Would be a real shame to lose Ake. I know he isn’t first team but he’s quality squad player..”

“I don’t want Nathan Ake to leave Man City but if he chooses to leave. We definitely need a CB similar Ake who is really good with air balls and is versatile as well.
What are ChelseaFC trying to build
A mini Man city team?????..”

“Unless Nathan himself request a transfer, Man City should not sell him. If he goes, city should Atleast get £60m for sure basis his contract and value to the squad.”

“Can just about accept no replacement for Sterling, but Ake would be a step too far. We all know someone would pick up an injury early on and leave us with 2 CBs for months. We need a fourth senior CB, defo, if he goes..”

“I love ake and i want him to stay but if chelsea wants to spend 60 million pounds on him then he can leave.”

“I will be genuinely mad if we get rid of Ake. Jesus and Sterling I will miss, Jesus more so than Sterling. But losing Ake would be the worst. We would be an injury away from any of the 4 CB to having little rotation and would most likely need to move Rodri back.”
