The biggest news in the football world today is the confirmation of Erling Haaland joining Manchester City – but it looks like the Premier League might have leaked the opening game for Manchester City in the 2022/23 season.
In response to Manchester City’s official announcement video for Erling Haaland – recreating an iconic image of the Norwegian international in an old-school strip as a young boy – the Premier League appear to have made a significant error that many believe could be an early reveal of the club’s opening game of the new season.
The account replied to Man City’s post about the signing of Haaland by writing the word “Bournemouth” alongside an hourglass emoji.
It’s since been deleted, but it looks like the cat might be out of the bag.
Did the Premiere League just give us a peak at Thursday’s fixture announcement?
While the fixture is currently unconfirmed, along with the rest of the opening weekend fixtures, supporters will not have long to wait with the big reveal currently scheduled for Thursday morning of this week.
