Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arijanet Muric is wanted by Vincent Kompany at Burnley.
Arijanet Muric joined City at 16 years of age and was drafted directly into the club’s academy system, before signing a professional contract in 2017.
However, the Kosovan international’s relatively short career has been defined by a string of loan spells at the likes of NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona and Willem II.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan with Turkish Süper Lig outfit Adana Demirspor and played 32 games in total.
According to the Sun, Vincent Kompany, who is still in the frame to become Burnley’s new manager, would turn to Manchester City for Arijanet Muric, should Nick Pope leave Burnley this summer.
The incoming Burnley manager rates the Kosovo international highly, who may be available for a move away this summer with the likes of Ederson and Zack Steffen likely to remain ahead of him in the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
