Erling Haaland has provided two reasons why he joined Manchester City from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund – and eanring trophies with the Premier League champions is not one
The arrival of Haaland ends City’s long search for a specialist centre forward having failed in their attempts to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham last summer.
The Premier League side activated his £51.2m release clause in May but now the transfer window has officially opened, he has been confirmed by the club.
But the marquee singing has claimed that the allure of silverware is not the reason why he opted to join, naming two other reasons why he put pen to paper.
When asked why he decided to join up with the East Manchester club, the 21-year-old responded: “First of all, my father a little bit. I was born in England, I’ve been a City fan my whole life”.
“I know a lot about the club. I think in the end, two things; I feel at home a bit here. Also I think I can develop and get the best out of my game at City.”
These Haaland’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
