Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report of the club’s plans after a possible Raheem Sterling exit.
Sterling and Gabriel Jesus are both reportedly on the brink of leaving the Premier League champions this summer, as Manchester City seemingly cash-in on two forwards who are out of contract in 2023.
Gabriel Jesus, who joined the Blues as a teenager from Palmeiras has completed a medical ahead of a £45 million move to Arsenal.
While Chelsea are widely reported to be advancing in their pursuit of England forward Raheem Sterling, who City signed for £44 million from Liverpool in 2015.
The pair scored a combined 30 goals for City last season in all competitions, as Guardiola’s side beat Jurgen Klopp’s Reds to another Premier League title, and also reached the semi-final stages of both the Champions League and FA Cup.
Despite the attacking influence of the two players City will not be seeking to bolster their forward options during the remainder of the summer transfer window, even if Sterling follows Jesus to another London-based rival.
That’s according to Rob Dawson for ESPN who claim City will remain focused on signing a left-back rather than further bolstering their attack.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“It just doesn’t make sense. Countless times we’ve heard Pep tell us top clubs need depth when competing in so many competitions. Relying on youth is commendable, but not at all ideal.”

“Gone from creating loads of chances but having no striker to having a striker with no fowards around him 😭.”

“Letting Jesus and Sterling go and not signing another winger is madness..”
