Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arsenal are weighing up their options after being told Pep Guardiola’s side will demand £55M for Gabriel Jesus this summer.
The 25-year-old forward is believed to be one of the top targets for Mikel Arteta as he looks to sign a new striker at the end of the season.
The Gunners are keen to bolster their striker options this summer, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both into the final three months of their respective contracts with the club.
Various reports recently have confirmed that Arsenal are interested in striking a deal for the Brazilian star and it appears the Cityzens are demanding £55 million fee for his services.
According to a report from ESPN, Arsenal are not too keen on meeting Manchester City’s £55 million demands for Gabriel Jesus.
The report states that the amount is based on City’s respect for the player — who has scored 95 goals in 235 appearances — but also a desire to recoup the €60m fee paid to Borussia Dortmund to sign Erling Haaland.
While Pep Guardiola was keen on keeping hold of Jesus, he will not stand in the way of the player, should he wish to leave the Etihad Stadium.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the fans, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the speculation.
What do they expect for a player of Gabby’s quality, age and career success? Coming from an English competitor as well.”

“They paid £70m+ for Pepe who’s half the player. £55m would be a steal.”

“Arsenal better pay this now cuz there’s no guarantee he will choose them when he becomes a free agent. They should think smart!!”

“We should keep him. Very intelligent player, helps a lot with his high pressure. Even if is just an option from the bench..”

“I’d rather play jesus on the wings and get rid of sterling. Many advantages of this. Atleast jesus can stay on his feet and will demand considerably less wages while work hard too.”
