Manchester City players are reportedly unhappy with the PFA for closing the vote for the Player of the Year award last Sunday.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the favourite to win the award and City stars feel he has been given an unfair advantage over Kevin De Bruyne.
Both Salah and De Bruyne have won the award before, in the 2017-18 and 2019-20 seasons respectively.
The other nominees are Liverpoolâs Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cityâs Joao Cancelo, West Ham Unitedâs Jarrod Bowen, Arsenalâs Bukayo Saka, Tottenham Hotspurâs Son Heung-min and Southamptonâs James Ward-Prowse.
Salah is the leading scorer in the Premier League this season with two matches remaining. The 29-year-old has scored just twice since the 2-0 win over Brighton on March 12.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne has hit his richest form of the campaign. He scored four goals in the 5-1 drubbing of Wolves last Wednesday.
However, the vote for PFA Player of the Year, which is decided by the players themselves, closed three days previous to that stunning performance. And the Mail claims City stars believe De Bruyne could now miss out on the award because his goals against Wolves will not be taken into account.
The report states that Man City sources feel De Bruyneâs starring role in the Premier League title race would have gained him some late votes to put pressure on Mohamed Salah.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from Man City supporters.

âYeah why does it end before the season ends so stupid when the last 3-4 games can affect the whole season.â

âThey going to give it to Salah. I mean letâs be honest everyone will just be laughing at Salah getting it at end of the day we know KDB is miles clear and deserved to win it once again đ.â

âThis makes no sense, whenever football fans debate about which players are better people always bring up what trophies theyâve won, how can you vote for whoâs been the best player in the county before a team has won the league?.â

âThey are trying all ways to stop him from winning it.â

âStrange this has happened several days after De Bruyne overtook Salah in this seasons overall PL ratings đ€.â

âKDB actually showed up for a bigger part of the season than Salah did. Salah only showed up at the first part.â
