Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Erling Haaland will join Pep Guardiola’s side this summer.
Guardiola has been pushing for the signing of a top-class striker for a while now, and after narrowly missing out on Harry Kane last summer, City are set to make one of the biggest moves of the year to show they mean business.
Haaland has been prolific during his time at Borussia Dortmund and has emerged as a global star. Now, it looks as though he’s set to ply his trade in England for the first time.
The Borussia Dortmund striker has a £68million release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga side and Man City are set to trigger that clause and complete a mega-money deal.
According to the latest information from the Guardian while reporting on the club’s interest in Paul Pogba, Erling Haaland, who both shared an agent, prior to Mino Raiola’s death, will join Man City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The signing of Haaland will be a huge coup for City, despite being one of the only clubs able to afford the Norwegian’s massive demands. The 21-year-old is a special striker and will play a key role in City’s future success by leading the line for Guardiola’s side.
The striker’s current campaign has been blighted by injuries but the Dortmund man has still put up impressive numbers. The 21-year-old has scored 28 goals in 28 matches and has a further 8 assists to go with that and will now look to better his output next season under the watchful eye of the great Pep Guardiola.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
