Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Erling Haaland has told Borussia Dortmund that he does not want his injuries to be publicly announced.
The Blues are trying to sign the Borussia Dortmund striker as they look to belatedly replace Sergio Aguero in their team, having failed to land a marquee forward in the last summer transfer window.
Although almost every top side in Europe would like to sign the 21-year-old, the race is understood to now be down to just two clubs – Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Since the beginning of March, a series of reports from England, Spain and Germany have deemed Pep Guardiola’s side to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Haaland when his release clause worth £63 million gets activated this summer.
For Man City fans, it is clear as day that their club really wants to sign Erling Haaland this summer, and we know that it is a genuine possibility.
The recent injury that he took on his ankle is something that Man City should definitely take note of and be concerned about, because the underlying aspects of it aren’t being talked about enough.
Haaland’s struggle with fitness and injuries is not unknown. He’s become more prone to injury than we previously thought, but according to Dortmund manager Marco Rose, Haaland is refusing to take an MRI scan for his latest injury on his ankle, and is taking painkillers before games so that he is able to play.
According to SPORT1 via BVB Newsblog, Erling Haaland has told Dortmund that he does not want his injuries to be publicly announced and is refusing further investigation on his recent injury, as he does not want a major transfer to fall through.
In light to the update, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.

“Don’t care I still want him, you all are forgetting that Gundogan, who was Pep Guardiola’s first signing for Man City, was signed with a dislocated kneecap. And here we are today with him balling. I still want Haaland, our medical staff is one of the best in the business..”
