Manchester City defender Pedro Porro is reportedly on the brink of joining Sporting Lisbon on a permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old Spanish international is currently enjoying the second part of his two-year loan spell with Sporting. Porro joined City from Girona in 2019 and has yet to feature for the Sky Blues.
Sporting have the option of signing Porro on a permanent deal this year, and the Portuguese giants are said to be determined to keep hold of the Spain international.
According to Record – via the Manchester Evening News – the Portuguese giants are set to trigger the clause and are confident of sealing a deal for City defender Pedro Porro ‘before the end of the season’.
The report adds that Sporting will not have to wait until the end of the season to do so, and as a result they are highly optimistic about their chances of wrapping up a deal in the coming weeks.
It’s said that the fullback is now wanted by the likes of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
While City have no cause for concern at right-back at present, it is testament to Pedro Porro’s burgeoning talent that including a buy-back clause was a major priority for the English giants.
In Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo, Manchester City have a strong claim for having arguably the two best right-backs in the world at their disposal.
