Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club have ‘set their eyes’ on Villarreal’s Pau Torres ahead of the summer transfer window.
A product of the Villarreal youth setup, Torres has become a key member of the first-team setup after a loan spell away at Malaga in 2018/19.
The 25-year-old is one of the best defenders on show in La Liga and has established a foothold in the Spanish national team.
According to Cadena SER journalist Xavi Sidro as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City have ‘set their eyes’ on the Spanish defender, whose performances have ‘attracted’ their attention.
Pep Guardiola’s side are now ‘interested in his services’ ahead of next season, especially if any of their current defensive options were to leave in the summer window.
The report claims Man City have already ‘contacted’ Pau Torres’ agency to ask about him and whether he would be interested in leaving this summer.
It is stated that the player has a €70M clause in his contract, with Villarreal not willing to negotiate ‘for less than €60M.’
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
