Aymeric Laporte has broken two Premier League records following Manchester Cityâs 2-0 victory away at Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
Laporte made his 100th Premier League appearance for Pep Guardiolaâs side at Turf Moor, and todayâs victory was his 82nd â the most by any player in their first 100 matches in the competitionâs history.
And also, the victory takes the total number of points he has collected in in that period to 254 â more than any other player has managed in their first 100 games in the competition.
Thatâs eight ahead of the previous best of 246 points, which had been set by Didier Drogba at Chelsea and then equalled by Ederson after his arrival at City in 2017.
Liverpoolâs Trent Alexander Arnold is next with 245, followed by former Manchester United and Serbia centre-back Nemanja Vidic with 243. Gabriel Jesus, in sixth place with 242, makes it three City players in the top 10.
As expected, several fans were quick to heap praise on the Manchester City star for his excellent record.
