River Plate legend Fernando Cavenaghi has now told Manchester City that Julian Alvarez is ready to leave Argentina and continue his rapid rise in Europe.
The 22-year-old forward will join Manchester City in the summer after signing from River Plate in January.
As Alvarez continues to be River Plate’s main star, every time there’s a conversation with a club personality, there are a few questions about the centre-forward.
Now River Plate former centre-forward had a few words about the youngster who’s now succeeding in his position.
Quoted by TyC Sports, Cavenaghi said: “I saw him in the reserves, I followed him in the youth leagues. It’s not my characteristic. He’s a complete player, he usually goes down the flanks, wears out differently and on top of that he added the goals.
“That makes footballers worth much more. He runs, presses, creates free kicks and had a tremendous scoring streak. He’s on another level than Argentine football.”
Regarding the Manchester City move, Cavenaghi points out Alvarez will have a different challenge once he gets to England.
“Now he has to prove it in Europe. He’s sky-high in confidence and he’s earned a place in the World Cup.”
