Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Sporting CP midfielder, Matheus Nunes ‘dreams’ of making a move to the Etihad.
The 23-year-old youngster is a very dynamic central midfielder who can impose himself in the middle of the park and can also push the team forward.
The Sporting no. 8 has made 26 starts and two substitute appearances in the Portuguese league so far this season, scoring two goals and given two assists in those games. He also has two assists in six Champions League games this campaign.
He became a hot topic of conversation amongst football fans across the globe in recent weeks, after Pep Guardiola described the midfielder as ‘one of the best players in the world’ when speaking after the Champions League round of 16 first-leg in Portugal in February.
According to A Bola as relayed by Sport Witness, despite this week’s rumours claiming Wolverhampton Wanderers could try to sign the Sporting midfielder this summer, Matheus Nunes instead ‘dreams’ of making a move to Man City.
The report went further to points out that the ‘privileged relationship’ between the Lions and Citizens could ‘work in favour’ of an eventual move, and when speaking to all clubs interested, the Lisbon side have already made it known that the player is not moving for less than €40m.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from Man City supporters.

“Like the look of this guy a lot, good switch for when Dinho leaves. Gives us some more depth and some more formation options to tinker with. As long as he’s happy know he has to work to get in the XI.”
