Manchester City football group are hoping to secure a deal to sign Ecuadorian defensive talent Jackson Porozo.
The 21-year-old is currently playing for Boavista in Portugal, but Manchester City are looking to bring the young defender to England.
On Saturday, A reports by A Bola claimed the City Group are willing to offer €3m to sign the youngster, which should not be enough to convince the Portuguese side, who’ve been demanding more to let the player go.
According to O Jogo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City’s “football group” remain on course to sign Jackson Porozo.
The report claims the Man City group has made an approach to sign Porozo, and a move “could happen soon”.
Porozo is a regular starter already in a top division, despite his age. The Ecuadorian has 18 starts in the league this season, but his disciplinary record may be a concern.
The centre-back has nine yellow cards in 18 games, averaging a card every other match, but have been critical in helping Boavista stay out of the relegation battle. He has also impressed the onlookers with his tall 1.92 frame, which makes him an intimidating figure for the opposition attackers.
Porozo has already represented his country, despite his lack of experience, which can only be a positive for Pep Guardiola when looking at signing the young prospect.
With their talent in defence as it stands, a loan move would probably be the best option, if he was to join the club. ES Troyes in Ligue 1 or Girona FC in La Liga, in particular, are two logical clubs where Porozo can further prove himself and hone his skills as a defender.
