Barcelona and Real Madrid will reportedly face stiff competition from Bayern Munich in the race to sign Manchester City’s Pedro Porro this summer.
The 22-year-old – who is yet to make an appearance for the Citizens since arriving from Girona in 2019 – is currently enjoying the second part of his two-year loan spell with Sporting.
Sporting have the option of signing Porro on a permanent deal this year, and the Portuguese giants are reportedly negotiating the final details with the Citizens to buy the Spaniard..
Although Sporting are working to sign the Man City owned player on a permanent deal, his future could be away from the Portuguese club
According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Pedro Porro has popped up on the radar of Bayern Munich over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
The Bavarian giants are keen on signing a right-back in the summer, as Bouna Sarr will likely depart the Allianz Arena, while Benjamin Pavard has blown hot and cold this season.
The report states Bayern will face stiff competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are also in the race to sign the Spanish international.
Barcelona will delve into the transfer market for a right-back in the summer transfer window, with Sergino Dest facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou despite some impressive performances lately.
While the links with Real Madrid come in the wake of Dani Carvajal’s waning performance levels. The Spanish international has been a shell of his best this season, with injuries taking their toll.
As per the the report, Sporting CP could demand around €30 million for the Spanish international after signing him permanently.
Bayern could soon launch the offensive for Porro, but with Barcelona and Real Madrid also in the hunt, it remains to be seen where the young full-back will play next season.
Saturday’s edition of A Bola claimed Pep Guardiola’s side have an option to buyback Perro for €17m, but will not exercise it allowing Bayern to make an approach for the Spaniard.
last week, renowned Newspaper Record, reported that Sporting can sign Porro for €8.5m (£7.2m) and are closing in on his signature, but the two clubs are negotiating a buyback fee.
Record went ahead to claim City want the option to bring the Spanish international back to the Etihad Stadium for €20m (£16.8m) before green-lighting his transfer.
While City have no cause for concern at right-back at present, it is testament to Pedro Porro’s burgeoning talent that including a buy-back clause was a major priority for the English giants.
In Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo, Manchester City have a strong claim for having arguably the two best right-backs in the world at their disposal.
