Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report to yet another update on the club’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland.
Competition is fierce for Haaland’s signature, as the prolific Norwegian will be available for around £63 million when his release clause becomes active at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old, who is one of the most in-demand players in the transfer market, is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9.
Only a few days ago, it had been claimed that Manchester City already have a deal in place to sign the Norwegian international. And, while talks may not be that further along, it does seem like they are currently the best-placed team to sign him up.
According to a fresh update from German journalist Patrick Berger on the Die Dortmund-Woche Podcast, Manchester City have so far made the best offer to Erling Haaland’s representatives in terms of a financial package.
He claims that the Citizens’ offer is very close to meeting the forward’s €25 million per year net salary demands, which would work out at around €480,000-per-week or close to the £400,000 mark.
Patrick Berger also revealed that Barcelona are pretty much out of contention and adds that Manchester City and Real Madrid have emerged as the frontrunners to sign the Dortmund hitman.
In light to the update, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.
