Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are among seven top European clubs monitoring the situation of RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku.
The France forward has been a revelation for the Bundesliga outfit this season, prompting interest from a number of top European clubs.
The former PSG man can line up anywhere across the front line. But he can also feature as No.10 or as a deeper midfielder.
City have long been credited with an interest in the French playmaker, who has 26 goals and 15 assists in all competitions.
The Bundesliga midfield star still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract at Leipzig, placing the German outfit in a strong position when it comes to any potential negotiations.
According to Tom Hamilton via ESPN, RB Leipzig are set for contract talks with star midfielder Christopher Nkunku this summer in the hope of keeping him at the club, but will listen to offers in excess of €75m.
The report claims that Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, and Arsenal all monitoring his situation. While Bayern Munich are also interested in him but will struggle to meet the asking price of €75m.
The report went further to add that the midfielder, who is under contract until 2024 at Leipzig, is hopeful the club will accept a bid in the region of €60M.
