Manchester City have their eye on another forward in AC Milan star Rafael Leao, amid their serious pursuit of Erling Braut Haaland
The 22-year-old AC Milan winger is having an excellent season with 11 goals and 6 assists across all competitions, and rumours are circulating about interest from abroad.
There are several top-tier clubs who are keeping an eye on Leao’s development given his explosion in his third season for the Rossoneri.
According to Calciomercato, Manchester City are one of just several ‘top-tier clubs’ who are ‘taking information’ on Milan star Leao amid his sensational season in Serie A.
PSG and Barcelona are the other frontrunners to sign Leao but Milan are reportedly ready to put up a fight – but the Rossoneri certainly won’t make it easy.
At the moment, neither Milan nor Leao are thought to be interested in the move and the Serie A side have hope of securing a new contract with Leao, who sill has two years left to run on his current deal at San Siro.
Pep Guardiola is reported to have ‘fallen in love with’ the Portuguese winger and might try persuade City to launch a bid in summer.
This comes as Manchester City were deemed to be close to signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
Reports from England, Spain, and Germany have intensified surrounding the future of Erling Haaland in the last few days, with City presented as the club at the front of the queue for Haaland’s signature and a deal close to being done.
