Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on Riyad Mahrez’s contract situation at the Etihad.
The 30-year-old Algeria star is enjoying his best campaign for Man City and is their leading goalscorer this season with eighteen goals in thirty matches in all competitions.
Mahrez’s current contract expires in 16 months and Manchester City face a dilemma over handing him new terms or letting him leave him.
Graeme Bailey via 90min Football reported this week that the in-form Algerian would be ‘very keen’ to commit his future at the Etihad Stadium, and Pep Guardiola has no intentions of losing his talismanic forward anytime soon.
However, According to the latest information provided by Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato as relayed by City Xtra, it is claimed that ‘no discussions’ have been conducted to extend Riyad Mahrez’s contract at Manchester City as of yet.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Riyad Mahrez at Manchester City ahead of what could be a telling few months in negotiating a new contract.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
