Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Gabriel Jesus and Cole Palmer are both ruled out of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Fulham.
Jesus picked up a minor injury during his time with Brazil on international duty, while Palmer – who starred in last month’s third-round win against Swindon Town with a goal and an assist – has not trained for the last few weeks and remains sidelined with unspecified ‘problems’.
Guardiola has confirmed the Both Jesus and Palmer will not be in contention to face Fulham on Saturday.
Speaking to the press ahead of this weekend’s contest at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola said: Yeah [everyone is available] except Gabriel comes with niggles from international break. The rest before the international break are [available].
“Cole Palmer is not ready, after the FA Cup had problems and still is not available or training since then. We’ll see what happens in the next weeks.”
Gabriel Jesus injury is hoped to be nothing too serious though, meaning he may return to action against Brentford on Wednesday.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
