Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club will not be entering the race to sign Declan Rice, despite Pep Guardiola being a ‘massive admirer’ of the player,
The 23-year-old is regarded among the best midfielders in the country, with his performances for both West Ham and England having been consistently superb for some time now.
The England International has already turned down two contract offers from the club, although his current deal is not due to expire until 2024 and the club can exercise a one-year extension.
The Midfield star could spark a bidding war as he is reportedly a target of Manchester City, United and Chelsea this summer, with West Ham facing a battle to hang onto the £100million-rated midfielder.
However, according to a report by Claret & Hugh, Manchester City will not to be entering the race to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice ahead of the new season.
The report claims that despite Pep Guardiola is a “massive admirer”, City chiefs have instead set aside their transfer cash to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland at the end of the campaign.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Rodri is clear

Correct decision imo, it would be tough to maintain morale between 2 players that are too good to be benched (Rodri and Rice). Having a squad with relatively high morale is such an underestimated aspect of our recent success.

He’s too good to be a rotation option. Keep Ferna at the club while Lavia improves and give Lavia more minutes next season. Simple

Honestly I’m happy . I’d really want lavia to be introduced, especially learning under rodri and fernandiho. He speaks so highly of them and our club , id love it if he plays. @RomeoLavia prem soon come https://t.co/bM8sgpvFWx pic.twitter.com/1ruVIQLhjW
