Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Erik Ten Hag is on the shortlist to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
Few coaches in world football are in higher demand than Pep Guardiola, who has unveiled what he hopes to do after leaving the Premier League club.
After replacing Manuel Pellegrini at the helm, Guardiola has been pivotal to City’s success in recent seasons, with several players lauding the 50-year-old for his tactical acumen and knowledge of the game.
The Spaniard is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2023 and could extend that, but expects to work elsewhere at some point in the future. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Guardiola and City, having previously led Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
According to Sunday Mirror Sport, One of the names in the frame to succeed Guardiola is Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who was in charge of Bayern’s reserve team when Guardiola worked in Germany
Ten Hag has won 145 of his 195 games in charge of the Amsterdam giants, who sit one point behind PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie table.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
The only person fit for the job if Pep leaves. Same philosophy, same mindset, elite mentality. He will continue the dynasty that Pep has created. https://t.co/iULafvsZc5 pic.twitter.com/b75GIB6j25
