Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Jr. as a replacement for Ferran Torres.
The 21-year-old forward has become a key player, and one of the bastions, thanks to his impressive performance that has seen him produced a remarkable tally of 15 goals and nine assists in 27 appearances in all competitions thus far this season.
The Brazilian still has a contract until 2024 but Madrid hope to start talks soon, and shield Vinicius as soon as possible as every big club in Europe has taken note of his exploits.
According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Man City is knocking on the door of the former Flamengo player, and Pep Guardiola has even contacted his agents.
The Premier League heavyweights view the Real Madrid attacking sensation as a possible long-term replacement for Ferran Torres, who has joined Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window.
However, as per the report, Vinicius Jr wants to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he is very happy and very comfortable, although he hopes to do so for a lot more money.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez plans to start negotiations with Vinicius Junior so as to prevent a ‘Robinho case’ from happening again.
For those who don’t remember, Robinho was the first big signing by the current Man City’s owners. He was signed from Real Madrid in 2008 for £32.5 million.
