Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is lining up for a shot at luring Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger away from Stamford Bridge.
The German international, who moved from Roma to Chelsea in 2017 at a fee of $40 million, has become one of the fundamental pieces to Chelsea’s backline since his arrival.
He is out of contract at the end of the season and yet to agree a new deal with Chelsea. Rudiger will be free to speak to foreign clubs if no extension is agreed.
It is understood that Rudiger is frustrated with the salary Chelsea have offered so far and their lack of effort to offer him a deal he thinks he deserves.
The 28-year-old has received a lot of interest from a variety of clubs in Europe’s top five leagues, with Man City reportedly showing a particular interest.
According to Di Marzio, Manchester City, Tottenham, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are the four clubs which the Chelsea defender is currently in talks with.
It does come as a bit of a surprise that Guardiola is eyeing another centre-back despite being loaded with defenders, unless the Etihad side is looking at the Chelsea star as a replacement for someone like Aymeric Laporte.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

On behalf of the board, the fans, the players and the staff at Manchester City, these rumors are false and he will never wear a sky blue jersey.
