Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that reveals where the cash injection courtesy of Ferran Torres’ transfer to FC Barcelona could be reinvested in 2022.
It’s now being widely reported that a deal has been agreed for Barcelona to sign Manchester City attacker Ferran Torres in January, with the fee expected to be in the region of £50million.
Although his departure now looks imminent, it’s unclear whether City will look to bring in a replacement, given the plethora of attacking talent already at the club.
According to the Telegraph’s James Ducker, the fee generated through the sale of the Spanish international is ‘likely’ to be invested towards bringing a ‘pedigree striker’ in at the Etihad Stadium.
The report went further to suggest that Manchester City are one of the clubs in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s in-demand frontman Erling Haaland next summer.
The Borussia Dortmund’s striker is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.
The report was shared on Twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

If that’s the last good deed of Torres, it’s not so bad. Excited to watch him play for Barca. May even book a lil trip to support him this summer https://t.co/R1p5CK39P4
