‘Wow’, ‘Finally’, ‘Please be true’ – Man City fans react as Bernardo Silva set for new £300,000-per-week contract

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is ready to double Bernardo Silva’s wages to make him one of the highest-paid players at the Etihad.

The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a summer exit from the Etihad Stadium, however the Portugal international eventually stayed put and has since excelled for Pep Guardiola’s side this campaign.

The Portuguese star has been City’s standout player so far this season and has scored seven goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.

According to The Sun, Man City are prepared to almost double the midfielder’s wages, which would see him become one of the club’s highest earners along with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, who are currently earning around £300,000 per week.

The former Monaco star has made 224 appearances for City across all competitions since joining the club in 2017, winning a total of 10 domestic trophies.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans react have been expressing their thoughts and opinions, with many in favour of the club handing Silva a new contract.
