Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Erling Haaland is understood to be the club’s leading striker target for next year.
With the January transfer window on the horizon, all eyes will be on Manchester City to see if they add to their squad, especially a striker.
After splashing out £100million to secure the signature of England international Jack Grealish from Aston Villa during the summer, the club was also keen to add a striker to its first-team.
But despite their long-term interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane they were unable to meet Spurs’ demands and get a deal over the line.
Since the summer window closed, City have been linked with an array of strikers, including Erling Haaland, Dusan Vlahovic as well as Harry Kane.
According to James Ducker from the Telegraph, Manchester City have made Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland their ‘leading striker target’ for 2022.
The Norwegian has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market since making his breakthrough at Red Bull Salzburg a couple of years ago.
Haaland, who remains under contract with the Black and Yellow until 2024, has already netted 17 goals in 13 appearances for Dortmund this term despite injury concerns.
Such remarkable progress in Germany has invariably put the Norwegian goal machine on the radars of many European football clubs, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid among his suitors.
In light to the encouraging update on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.
If there was ever a time to go big on a player in the market, it’s for this lad 🤞 🙌🏻 https://t.co/6ZVcQK4nNC

That means we’re not getting him then because we never get our leading targets
