Manchester City are positive about the prospects of Phil Foden returning against Wolves on Saturday after the forward limped off at half-time in the Champions League in midweek.
Foden has only just returned to action for the Premier League leaders after a couple of weeks on the side-lines.
But the England international only lasted 45 minutes of City’s 2-1 defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday.
According to City boss Pep Guardiola, who also lost defender Nathan Ake to injury late on, Foden was taken off as a ‘precaution’
“Phil had problems in the beginning of the game with his ankle. He struggled a little bit so he was taken off as a precaution and we put Raheem (Sterling) in his position.”
According to Daily Mail, Manchester City are confident of calling on Phil Foden against Wolves after that ankle scare in midweek.
With the festive schedule one of the busiest times of the season for Premier League clubs, the news comes as a huge boost for City, who went top for the first time this season with victory over Watford.
Here’s what some City fans had to say about the latest with Foden’s injury on Twitter…
I think after that game they should probably rest Foden. Maybe bring him on as a sub https://t.co/0Yyp7kiIoE
