Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is considering a swap deal that could see Raheem Sterling and Frenkie de Jong swap places.
The England international has struggled to hold a key role in Pep Guardiola’s plans so far this season, and has only started six of his 15 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old, who was an unused substitute in the Manchester derby against Manchester United on Saturday, has only managed two goals and two assists for the English champions this term.
Sterling was linked with the Blaugrana earlier this summer. A swap deal was speculated with Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto among players mentioned.
Barca are still keeping tabs on his situation in view to a move in January when the transfer window reopens.
According to reports from El Nacional, incoming Barcelona boss Xavi wants to bring in new wide players and Guardiola could tempt Barcelona with a swap offer for de Jong.
Guardiola is long standing fan of the Dutch schemer, dating back to his Ajax days, but he faces a battle to prise him away from the Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old midfielder has established himself as first-team regular since his arrival in 2019 from Ajax, making a total of 106 appearances in all competitions, amassing nine goals and 14 assists along the way.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Transfer News live, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

This would probably be the only way I’d let Sterling go. De Jong would be an absolute monster in this city team and we’re overloaded with wingers atm
