Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Raheem Sterling is a target for Xavi when he takes over as the new Barcelona boss.
The 26-year-old’s future at the Etihad is uncertain with his amount of minutes having taken a major hit this season, and he has admitted he would be open to heading abroad.
The £100million arrival of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa has only further fuelled the belief that the 26-year-old will leave, with Barcelona poised to make the deal happen.
The Catalans were reportedly exploring the possibility of taking the Englishman on loan in the January transfer window with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Xavi is already thinking about life at Camp Nou and has identified Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling as transfer targets.
The report claims that Sterling is wanted to play on the left of a 4-3-3 formation, with the England international potentially available in 2022 due to his struggles at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite a promising summer with the Three Lions at Euro 2020, Sterling has returned to a back-up role at City and has started just three of the club’s eight Premier League matches this season.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans, who have become frustrated that he can’t replicate that form for his club, have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
Great. Just try to get an actual decent fee for once
