Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is unlikely to return for Harry Kane after failing to sign him over the summer and have now turned their focus onto Bundesliga goal machine Erling Haaland.
City did all they could to land Kane but Tottenham refused to negotiate, and with no suitable alternative they decided to go into the season with Jack Grealish as their only senior addition.
After failing to sign a striker in the summer, Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain contemplated alternative options like Dusan Vlahovic and Cristiano Ronaldo but with no follow through.
They were also linked with a swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland as they tried harder to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
The attacker is arguably the hottest property in world football, with the 21-year-old attacker already one of the best finishers in Europe.
There are a host of European clubs interested in Haaland, however, with Manchester City among those weighing up whether to activate the €75m release clause in his contract.
According to a report by AS (via Sport Witness), the premier leaque champions are unlikely to return for Harry Kane after failing to sign him over the summer and have now turned their focus onto Bundesliga goal machine Erling Haaland.
The report adds that the economic aspect of a deal for Haaland will have a ‘lot of weight’ as City become one of the big clubs ‘advancing positions over a move.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions, with many absolutely thrilled that the club’s focus has finally turned to the hot shot 21-year-old.
