Manchester City academy star Romeo Lavia has taken to Twitter following his debut for the club.
The Belgian midfielder is extremely highly-rated at the club, and Pep Guardiola has previously admitted that the youngster will be training in parts with the first team this season
City beat a host of their Premier League rivals to sign the 17-year-old in the summer of 2020, and he has enjoyed a superb first season in England.
He made a huge impression on academy staff having played a key role in the club’s Under-23s winning the Premier League 2 title.
The 17-year-old midfielder was one of many players who make their first starts for the senior team this week. City hosted League One side Wycombe Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium.
And it was a perfect night for the home side and the reigning League Cup champions as City claimed a 6-1 win over Gareth Ainsworth’s side. And for Lavia, it was a game to remember.
The Belgian youngster controlled the midfield well alongside Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne. And Lavia has since taken to Twitter to thank fans for their support during the game
Lavia has often been likened to City captain Fernandinho, and on Twitter, supporters believe that the teenager has the potential to fill in these shoes one day.
Here’s what some fans had to say on Twitter about what Lavia had to say on his debut for City…
17 years of age and putting on a debut like that 💙 you're going to the top!
