Many Sky Blues were impressed with the performance of Aymeric Laporte in the 1-0 win on Saturday Afternoon against Chelsea in the Premier leaque.
Thomas Tuchel named a defensive side to face the reigning champions but his decision backfired as Manchester City dominated proceedings in London.
After an uneventful first-half, City took the lead through Gabriel Jesus and should have scored more but Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was in fine form to deny them.
Among the Manchester City XI, there were some fine performances that caught the eye of City fans. One such player to put in a fine display was laporte.
Laporte returned to the City starting lineup after two games out with injury and was assured alongside Ruben Dias, keeping Romelu Lukaku relatively quiet.
The Spaniard has once again established himself as a starter at the base of the XI as the defensive duo impressed once again against the UEFA Champions League holders.
Laporte dealt well with a lightning-fast Timo Werner and swatted away everything that came at him. He almost scored a late goal himself to make it 2-0, but was unlucky to see his back-post effort go wide.
Some Man City fans took to social media to express their feelings on the 27-year-old’s performance.
