Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is ‘monitoring the situation’ of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, along with Chelsea.
Rice is regarded among the best midfielders in the country, with his performances for both West Ham and England having been consistently superb for some time now.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from West Ham during the recently concluded transfer window, but is still at the club.
Chelsea were credited with an interest in signing Rice, while Manchester United were also said to be keen.
Acccording to Steinberg for The Guardian, the Premier league champions are ‘monitoring the situation’ of Rice, along with Chelsea.
The report claims Manchester United are expected to make a move next summer, and it ‘feels unlikely’ that West Ham will be able to refuse a ‘massive’ offer.
Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to be in the hunt for a new defensive midfielder in the next 12 months, with Fernandinho set to leave the club upon the expiry of his one-year contract extension signed earlier in the summer.
Rice is a midfielder who patrols the deeper areas in front of the defence, while also being able to spring an attack by driving with the ball or threading a pass, Rice is a truly accomplished player.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
