Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club will hold back the number 10 shirt, rather than giving it to Jack Grealish, in the hope they can sign Harry Kane by the end of the transfer window.
The 25 year-old has been pursued by Man City throughout the current transfer window, and it seems the transfer saga has now come to an end.
The Citizens agreed a £100million deal with Aston Villa in recent days with Grealish heading to City’s base for a medical and to sign paperwork yesterday.
Jack Grealish will become the most-expensive transfer in British history, after Manchester City’s £100 million offer triggered a release clause in his Aston Villa contract.
But what Shirt Number Could Jack Grealish Take at Manchester City?
The England International has worn the number 10 shirt for Aston Villa for a number of years, but with the Blues currently also in the market for a new striker – namely Harry Kane, will Jack Grealish be given the squad number previously worn by the iconic and legendary frontman Sergio Aguero?
According to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, there are ‘unconfirmed suggestions’ that Man City will hold back the number 10 shirt, rather than giving it to Jack Grealish, in the hope they can sign Harry Kane by the end of the transfer window.
Numbers 4, 12, 15, 18, 19, 24, 28, 29 and 30 are all available to Jack Grealish, although the squad number 23 is not, after Manchester City retired the number in 2003, in honour of the late Marc-Vivien Foe.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

10 is for an AM not a ST. The only man who can pull it off is Kun

Good give Grealish the No.19/18 if he signs. Shouldn’t touch the No.10 shirt
