Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is set to relaunch talks over a new contract for Raheem Sterling.
Sterling remains a key figure at the Etihad, despite Pep Guardiola’s continual rotation of him in and out of the side.
He has often been a prolific scorer for City, but he’s sometimes received criticism for not quite doing it as consistently for his country and club.
The England International had a difficult end to last season and often found himself on the bench as the club won the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
The recent arrival of Jack Grealish, 25, for a British record £100million means competition for places is even greater.
But the 26-year-old was England’s best performer at the recent European Championships. Sterling did not come into Euro 2020 in great form but has showed why his Manchester City and England managers pick him so often.
The England International has two years to run on his current Etihad Stadium deal and his future is currently up in the air.
According to The Sun, the Blues are set to re-open talks with the former Liverpool man in an attempt to tie him down at the Etihad.
Sterling has been on the radar of Arsenal and was believed to be among the established stars City were willing to send to Spurs in a players-plus-cash offer for Harry Kane, the report adds.
Sterling has made almost 300 appearances for City since signing in 2015, improving markedly in front of goal under Pep Guardiola.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been sharing their thoughts and opinions.

We know how much he cooks with a competent striker, get Kane and just like we saw at the Euro’s it’s over for everyone else

Wouldn’t care either way to be honest… I’d be wounded if Bernardo left, I’d shrug my shoulders if Sterling left…

You all have short term memory if you think he needs to leave based off last season (14 goals isn't terrible either). The three seasons before last, he scored 23, 25 and 31 goals respectively and he's the third top scorer under pep after Messi and aguero.
