Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Bernardo Silva intent on moving to Spain amid Barcelona and Atlético Madrid interest.
Silva has been a superb player for City, helping the club win three Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and the FA Cup since joining from Monaco in 2017.
But his future is in doubt now after City signed Jack Grealish for £100million. They are now stacked with attacking options and Bernardo’s game time is expected to be limited next season if he stays at the club.
The former Monaco man emerged as one of the players who could be on his way out of the Etihad at the beginning of this summer as Man City look to freshen up their squad.
And Pep Guardiola has even admitted that the Portuguese is hoping to leave the Premier League champions in the near future.
The problem that Bernardo faces is that he wants a new league as part of a new challenge. Arsenal were thought to be interested in the midfielder, but he allegedly turned the offer down as he seeks to leave England.
According to Times Sport, Silva wants to seal a move to the La Liga to be closer to his family, with the likes of Barcelona and Atlético Madrid vesting their interest in the playmaker, who has four years left on his current deal in east Manchester.
However the financial situation for clubs in Spain means that Barcelona definitely cannot afford to sign him while Atletico have shown no signs of firming up their interest with the sort of cash that City are after.
The report claims Barcelona had suggested a swap deal including one of their fringe players but Manchester City were not interested and want cash.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
Fringe players 😂 Bernardo is worth much more than a fringe player
