Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Cristiano Ronaldo is actively seeking to ‘engineer’ a move to the Etihad this summer.
The Juventus superstar’s future has been the subject of intense scrutiny for many months as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract in Turin.
The £40.5m-valued Portuguese is keen to leave Juventus in this transfer window and an extraordinary report is now claiming that he is offering himself to Manchester City.
City are in the market for a new striker this summer with their priority remaining Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane but the club are prepared to walkaway from the deal if Spurs do not lower their asking price.
According to Get French Football News, L’Equipe report as relay by City Xtra, Cristiano Ronaldo has ‘spoken‘ with a number of Manchester City players about a move, including the club’s Portuguese contingent of Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo – who the report label as his ‘friends‘.
The report states that Ronaldo himself believes a deal will happen this summer, while his agent, Jorge Mendes, is ‘working overtime’ and seeking to engineer a part swap deal that could see his fellow client Bernardo Silva heading to Juventus.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
