Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club’s first alternative to Harry Kane is Dusan Vlahović.
The 21-year-old striker’s future at Fiorentina is under the scanner with suggestions that he could be on his way out in the final days of the transfer window.
Pep Guardiola is certainly aware that the club needs to recruit a striker this summer given his side’s struggles in front of goal, and reports this month suggested that Vlahovic has become the ‘primary objective’ for the Citizens.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano had seemingly dismantled the rumours linking Manchester City to the 21-year-old forward.
However, according to La Repubblica via Sport Witness, the Fiorentina striker is still Man City’s first alternative to Harry Kane if a deal for the Tottenham striker doesn’t take shape.
The report states that the Serbian is ‘happy’ at Fiorentina, but a ‘call from Guardiola would change everything’ and claims Chairman Rocco Commisso values Vlahović at around €70M, while ‘Man City offer €55M’.”
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
I think we’re close to giving up the Kane chase.
