Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Stoke City are close to signing Liam Delap on-loan following a breakthrough in discussions.
The youngster, who has been linked with a loan move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer, was instrumental in City winning the U-23 league last season, scoring 24 goals and assisted 5 in a sensational year for the youngster.
Delap, who is one of City’s most exciting youth prospects, has been promised a place in Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad next season after scoring a record 24 goals in Premier League 2 – and is a genuinely exciting prospect.
He isn’t expected to make waves in the first-team this season especially as City continue to pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane this summer, so the Premier League champions will loan him out to a side that can offer him regular playing time.
There has been plenty of speculation that the 18-year-old striker could go out on loan this season in order to gain some vital experience, with Stoke one of a long list of Championship clubs interested in securing the talents of the highly-rated striker this month.
According to Football Insider, Stoke are in advanced talks to sign Delap on loan following a breakthrough in discussions as they head into the final week of pre-season.
The teenage striker is one of the most exciting prospects in English football and grew up watching Stoke while his dad Rory, now a first team coach, was patrolling midfield as a club legend.
The youngster, who reportedly visited the club’s Clayton Wood training complex, would work under his father Rory Delap at the Bet365 Stadium should he move to Championship side on-loan this summer.
Delap has been consistently prolific at youth level and should thrive at getting competitive football, so this could be a big season for him.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been sharing their thoughts and opinions.

Worst deal ever

It's stupid to spend that amount on Kane who is prone to multiple injuries in a season while we can try a kid who is excellent at scoring. At least if he Delap fails we loose nothing but no Aguero 2.0 loading for a sum of money that can buy a club

It ruined John Guidettis career. I worry it will do the same

As long as he plays regularly wouldn’t mind the move.
