Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have agreed not to stand in Aymeric Laporte’s way if a bid of £60M comes in.
In recent weeks, there has been growing speculation Laporte may find a way out of the Etihad Stadium this summer, with a host of clubs reportedly interested in the Manchester City star.
The 27-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium from Athletic Bilbao in January 2018 when City activated his £57m release clause, and has been a key player for the defending premier league champions in the last few years.
However, Laporte, for the first time in his career, found himself out in the cold cutting a frustrated and desolate figure as John Stones and Ruben Dias continued to be Pep Guardiola’s go-to centre-back pairing.
Laporte feels unsettled at the Etihad Stadium as he made just 14 starts in the Premier League and three in the Champions League last season
Despite having four years left on his contract, Laporte is believed to be eager to seal a move away from the club this summer and Juventus are keen on taking him to Italy.
According to Jack Gaughan for the Daily Mail, Manchester City have agreed not to stand in Aymeric Laporte’s way if a bid of £60million comes in for the defender.— which is just over the £57m they paid Athletic Bilbao to sign the Spain international back in January 2018.
Juventus and Real Madrid have shown interest in Laporte over recent months but there remains uncertainty as to whether Europe’s top clubs can finance a deal at City’s valuation, the report adds.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

£60 million for a world class centre half? Really?

That is way too low for Laporte but I am confident no bid is coming.

One of the best CBs in the world and a left-footed one at that ? He’s worth £80M at the very least

We literally brought him for £57 million that’s when he was up and coming. Now his in his prime and one the best centre backs in the world. How are we only going to sell him for a 3 million profit
