Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Ruben Dias is set to receive a huge pay rise following his brilliant first season with the club.
Dias signed for Manchester City last summer and helped Pep Guardiola’s side to the Premier League title with the defender now set to be rewarded for his performances.
The Portuguese capped a sensational debut season with the premier league champions by adding the FWA Footballer of the Year crown and a place in the PFA Team of the Year to a Premier League winner’s medal, the League Cup and a Champions League final.
He was the first defender to win the FWA award since Liverpool’s Steve Nicol back in 1989, a recognition for his performances in the heart of a City defense which was a major factor in the club winning the Premier League.
According to Daily Star Sport Exclusively, Dias is in line to receive a pay rise at Manchester City securing a basic salary of £140,000-a-week, should he agree to the improved terms on the table.
The report claims With the club’s significant bonus scheme thrown in on top, Dias, who is Currently on £80,000-a-week, could earn more than £200,000 per week during the 2021-22 campaign.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Chief and City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
