Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update concerning the club’s pursuit of Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The England pair are one of the players Manchester City are considering buying this summer as they aim to defend the Premier League title and also impress again in Europe next season.
Reports over the course of the past month have suggested that the Villa midfielder and Spurs striker has been attracting significant levels of interest from City ahead of a possible big-money move this summer.
Reports from Sky Sports on Friday suggested City are preparing a £100million opening bid for Grealish as they look to invest heavily across this summer, also linked with Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, there is still ‘nothing advanced or agreed’ for Jack Grealish, and while Manchester City are ‘strongly interested’ in signing the Aston Villa captain, no talks are ongoing with the Birmingham club as of today.
According to the report, the premier league champions have already submitted an offer for Kane but they have seen their opening bid rejected by Spurs.
Romano states that Manchester City will make a ‘final decision‘ on the negotiations for both Grealish and Harry Kane, who are considered as ‘top targets’ by the Etihad hierarchy after the ongoing European Championships.
