Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on the club’s reported target Sergi Roberto, who is expected to be sold this summer.
Roberto, whose current contract at Camp Nou is due to expire in the summer of 2022, had a very underwhelming La Liga campaign as Barcelona finished third under the management of Ronald Koeman.
Pep Guardiola had reportedly previously wanted Sergi Roberto last season but he refused as he wanted to wait and see if he was still in Barça’s plans.
According to Spanish source Sport (via Goal), Man City are still keen to sign Roberto and have made an initial approach about a deal.
His contract expires in 2022 and it’s unclear whether he will be offered a new one, meaning Barcelona might be forced to sell this summer.
Roberto is one of Pep Guardiola‘s top targets to improve his midfield. He already has Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri and veteran enforcer Fernandinho available, but the Spaniard would help to provide an extra bit of quality.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

if it’s midfield then I want aouar but roberto yanno depending on price under £20m don’t think it’ll be bad tbh, versatile and will become a lot better under pep

He’s a great player. Versatile. His vision is good. And certainly captain material. Will make a great addition to peps team

Thats the problem with CityZens. We are all quick to condemn a player just because of a poor season when in actual reality management sometimes is the issue. Roberto would be a great addition to our squad.
