Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is ready to discuss a new long-term contract with England hero Raheem Sterling after Euro 2020.
Sterling, who has scored three goals for England at Euro 2020, struggled to show his best form for Pep Guardiola’s side last season despite netting 14 times and contributing 12 assists across all competitions.
The 26-year-old forward have two years left to run on his deals at the Etihad Stadium, and have already been linked with moves away from the club this summer.
City were reportedly to have put their plan for Raheem Sterling to sign a new contract in peril by offering him in a deal for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
But According to Jack_Gaughan for Daily Mail, the premier league champions will look to discuss a new contract with Raheem Sterling, after the European Championship, with his current £300,000-a-week deal at the Etihad set to expire in 2023.
Manchester City are ‘calm’ about the situation and all negotiations will be conducted with the €90m-rated star and his two lawyers, the report adds.
The news was shared on Twitter by City_Xtra and City Chief, and it attracted plenty of attention from the supporters.
It’s clear, he needs a decent striker to click to his game. It’s not a coincidence when Aguero was out, his performance suddenly dropped drastically
